IL&FS Prime Terminals

  • IL&FS Maritime Infrastructure Company Limited along with local strategic partners is developing a state of the art independent storage terminal, IL&FS Prime Terminal, for oil products in heart of the Emirate of Fujairah.

  • The overall capacity of the Terminal will be 600,000 cbm. The Phase I of the Terminal of 14 product tanks with an aggregate capacity of 333,481 cbm is operational since early 2015. The development of Phase II will be commencing shortly.

  • Fujairah is strategically located outside Strait of Hormuz, 65 miles from the Strait and on the open sea of the Arabian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. It is a major international shipping passage carrying approximately 40 percent of world’s crude oil supply.

  • IL&FS Prime Terminal is situated at Al Sudah in close proximity to the Port of Fujairah (approx 1.5 km) which is one of the world’s largest bunker ports

  • The overall plot area of IPTF is 107,725.19 sqm and Phase 1 occupies around 65,718 sqm out of it

  • In Phase 1, IPTF currently has the ability to handle and aggregate capacity of 333,481 cbm

  • The Terminal is equipped to handle all kinds of black and white products like:
    • Heavy Fuel Oil, Fuel Oil, Gasoil, Diesel, Jet fuel, Gasoline, Cutter Stock (for Blending), MTBE (for Blending), Ethanol (for Blending)


  • The Pumping capacity of the Terminal is:
    • Black products: Max pumping capacity is upto 4,000 cbm/hour (using 3 pumps)
    • White products: Max pumping capacity is upto 3,000 cbm/hour (using 2 out of 5 available pumps)
    • All product pumps are equipped with VFD


  • Jetty capacities at Port of Fujairah:
    • Black products: 2 lines of 30 inch dia
    • White products: 2 lines of 24 inch dia and 2 lines of 16 inch dia


  • Dedicated product Lines:
    • OT 1 Berths: 100,000 DWT, max 250 m LOA , 15 metres draft
    • OT 2 Berths (5,6,7): 180,000 DWT , max 300 m LOA , 18 metres draft
    • OT 2 Berth (4,8,9): 200,000 DWT, max 330 m LOA, 18 metres draft

    • Elaborate safety arrangements with every tank equipped with Water Sprinklers and Foam pourers
    • Multiple Jetty connectivity to facilitate simultaneous berthing, loading and unloading operations
    • Quick turnaround of marine tankers with faster discharge through large diameter pipelines connecting the Terminal and Port
  • Fujairah is strategically located for storage of crude oil in the Middle East –outside the Strait of Hormuz and has direct access to the Indian ocean, allowing vessels access to UAE while bypassing the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz. Strait of Hormuz is the passage for 40% of the world's seaborne oil shipments, and 20% of all world oil shipments

  • Fujairah Port and the surrounding area has been declared as Fujairah Zone for Petroleum Industry (FOZ). The Project site lies within the FOZ and benefits from all the initiatives of the FOZ for promotion of setting up of petroleum and hydrocarbon industries, refineries, transport, storage facilities etc

  • Due to the strategic location, the services offered by the Port of Fujairah, the Temrinal is well placed for catering to the following needs of the oil sector
    • Bunkering — Serve bunker operators supplying ships calling in the Fujairah and Khor Fakkan area
    • Make Bulk Fuel Oil
    • Regional Small (Combi-Cargo) Assembly
    • Contango /Trading Storage
    • Arbitrage
    • Gasoline Importing/Blending for AG Distribution
    • Distillate Blending Terminal Services for Local Industry
